Last night, Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Today, Jay-Z took to his Life + Times blog to put up this new track (along with the photo above), dedicated to his newborn daughter. While “New Day” off of Watch the Throne might have been an apology for ruining his future child’s life due to his fame, “Glory” is in a completely different, uplifting tone. Hov has never sounded happier.
Listen til the end of the song to hear where that credit for B.I.C. comes from.
Welcome to this wonderful world, Blue Ivy. You’ve got a great life ahead of you.
"The most amazing feeling I feel. Words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real. Baby I paint the sky blue. My greatest creation was you"
Boston’s Boy is back…finally. Sammy Adams drops this mixtape as a pre-album, a precursor for something else he plans to put out in 2012. Going back to his Party Records phase, Sammy raps over some dubstep and electro tracks (most notably Flux Pavillion’s “Midnight Run”). Hopefully the kid will come back strong after a little hiatus.
The trio is now complete. First came House of Balloons, which took the internet by storm in March - a mixtape from an unheard-of Toronto MC going by the name of The Weeknd. Next came Thursday, which about damn near broke the internet when the mixtape was released through The Weeknd’s Tumblr account in August.
Finally, we now have the final chapter in The Weeknd’s mixtape debut saga - Echoes of Silence. The Weeknd, no longer as much of a mystery (but still very much mysterious), has become the standout artist in 2011. This music is different. Revolutionary, maybe? This is on another level, and EOS leaves us wondering…what will he do next?
I watched this entire game. Charlotte began the game 11-0, had a 15-point lead at halftime, but I just knew the Heat were going to be able to pull out a win. This Bosh dunk completely changed the momentum in the game…and destroyed all confidence that D.J. White had.
While dance music has been popular in Europe for years, it truly took over the U.S. this year - and this video captures it all in a perfect way. I couldn’t be happier. EDM brings something to fans that it seems no other genre is able to do. Just as this video says…”Rage on in 2012.”
